I have saved hay, I have saved turf
I have collected eggs, fed calves and hens for us
I have picked potatoes; lifted stones harrowed again not alone
I have set onions and planted cabbage
I have weeded and thinned seedlings.
I held the stick against the corn, helping out
The hawk, the horse, the hound and the hen
live together in the glen. Fields and furrow so remote. While songbirds sing note for note.
